Nowadays, power adapters have adopted a large number of SMD components, and once the components have problems, the difficulty of maintenance becomes even greater. The power of the power adapter is also increasing day by day, which poses a greater challenge to electronic components. If the electronic components used in the power adapter are of poor quality and the PCB wiring is improper, it is very likely to increase the probability of faults occurring. Below is a summary of the author's experience during the maintenance process, hoping to be helpful to everyone. There are 5 questions to organize:

(1) When winding the power cord, try to be careful to avoid breaking the internal cables and creating a circuit. If the external power supply is not supplying power, you can try plugging in the computer battery. If the machine can start normally, there may be a problem with the power cord or adapter. Then use a multimeter to check if there is a problem with the power cord, in order to simplify the maintenance difficulty. Do not try to open the adapter housing from the beginning. The difficulty of opening the adapter shell is really too great;

(2) If there is a problem with the original adapter, which cannot be repaired or cannot be repaired in time, it can be replaced with another adapter first, as long as the output voltage and power are roughly equivalent. There is also a voltage stabilizing circuit inside the laptop, so don't worry too much about output voltage mismatch;

(3) The author once saw a friend online mentioning that the adapter had a problem and burned out the computer motherboard. It is estimated that this situation is very rare. If there is, the author estimates that the voltage regulator circuit inside the laptop is damaged;

(4) Try not to damage the casing as much as possible. After the casing is damaged, there may be problems such as increased electromagnetic radiation, which can affect the stability of the machine. If the shell is damaged, try to repair it as much as possible. After opening the appearance and shielding layer, it is best to first inspect the solder joints and observe them with the naked eye. The circuit is intermittent, usually due to poor contact;

(5) Check if there are any problems with the capacitance, resistance, and inductance. If there is a bulge in the capacitor, it is best to replace it in a timely manner to avoid leaving hidden dangers.
